Huntsville City Schools is proud to serve the many military families who work and live in our community. HCS is comprised of active-duty, military-dependent youth, and HCS is committed to provide support and resources to enhance their educational experiences and support their families.
HCS is fortunate to partner with Redstone Arsenal and Military Child Education Coalition. From parental deployments to the academic and social challenges that come with transition, HCS strives to ensure families have the best resources possible to assist students in reaching their full potential.

Student2Student (S2S) is a student program that brings military and civilian students together to welcome new students, create a positive environment, support academic excellence, and ease transitions. Military Interstate Children’s Compact Commission (MIC3) is an agreement between all 50 states and D.C. to aid military children and families as they experience educational transitions. Their site provides numerous resources for educators and families to use to support military students with MIC3.
